When will it ever stop? What will it take for people to realize that drunk driving is not acceptable? Do you have to lose someone close to you to understand the risks of impaired driving?
Last night, three young men lost their lives in a situation that could have been avoided. In an accident that occured late Friday night just outside of London at Longwoods Road and Westdel Bourne, the crash between two pick up trucks has left David Marshall, 26, Mason Berube, 13, and Devon Tinus, 12, dead. The truck that Marshall was in was driven by his friend Andrew Kummer, 25. Both men had been drinking. It is to be believed that the other truck was driven by Berube's father, all three returning to Chatam from a London Knight's game.

One decision is all it takes. Don't drink and drive. Both Kummer and Marshall made immature decisions to enter a vehicle. Kummer's decision to start the ignition, and drive while drunk will forever be remembered through the loss of three lives.
This has been troubling the minds of many I know, including myself, as both Kummer and Marshall were former student's of my highschool.
Three young lives were lost with no chance to live out their dreams. It is a tragic situation that must be recognized, and sadly it serves as a reminder to many of the consequences of impaired driving.
Please encourage your family, friends, or anyone who is possibly considering driving after drinking, to NOT drive. Tell them how much it means to you that they, and others, arrive safely.
My thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones of those involved.

i know andrew he is a goof. a burn out fat waste of space. hes been driving drunk for years. i know he will be having fun in jail getting bummed all day hard1

well what do u think is going to happen to him in jail? rainbows and flowers?. its the truth. they should teach u the truth in class. hes prolly going to get bail today. then be on the streets once agian.
im devons sister taylor, and i am very very disappointed in Kummers family!!
they should not have ANY right bailing their son out of jail! He killed 3 people, including 2 young boys no older than 13 years of age. if it was up to me, he would be tortured and dead. We need to keep his parents away from him, because he should stay in jail instead of being bailed out.
he was convicted of drunk driving before, nows the time to let him learn a lesson he deserves.
we need to keep him in jail, and not let him run free with the privelage he does not deserve to have.
Who knows how many times this will happen again if kummer is let out.
i miss my brother very much. this is a very hard time for my family, and its a shame we lost 2 amazing boys.
Anyone who was given the privelage to meet these 2 friends are extremely lucky.

Let me begin by telling you how very sorry I am to know that you lost a brother, friend, and amazing person in your life. They have gained an angel in heaven.
I can't even begin to tell you how dissapointed and angry I am of the decisions that both Andrew and Dave made that night. They had no right to make those decisions, as it affected the lives of others- without their knowledge. I agree that Andrew should not have been let out on bail, and that drinking and driving is a crime and needs to be punished.
He will be punished, and it will be a matter of time before he is in jail living out his sentance. What Andrew gets will never seem like enough, but your brothers memories and happiness he brought to others lives will always be remembered.
